  • The church elders believe God is still inviting us to pursue the entire vision of the campaign as set forth in 2017. We recognize some people need more time to fulfill existing pledges. Others need an opportunity to join the campaign for the first time. And still others need an opportunity to give more. Extending the fulfillment period an additional year allows the church time to support the next phase of the campaign while ensuring our plan to remain debt free.

  • Yes. In addition to existing pledges and gifts, which currently total $23.8 million, we’re seeking $5.6 million in donations.

  • The additional $5.6 million includes $2.6 million for Harvest 2020 (international missionaries & domestic church plants) and $3 million to complete funding for the building project at the Southlake campus debt free.

  • The projects at all three campuses are important and legitimate. Our leaders determined to prioritize the projects that have the greatest impact on future growth. The improvements to the Southlake campus are the next pressing need and will immediately allow us to better reach the surrounding community.

  • The church elders remain committed to renovating and updating the NRH campus, especially the Kids Ministry area. The timeline for this project is longer than we originally thought, probably beyond 2020. In the meantime, we will reevaluate our project plans to ensure they meet the most critical needs of the NRH campus. Additionally, we’ve begun the process of selling unused land adjacent to the NRH campus to help partially fund projects at NRH.

  • Harvest Weekend is November 9 & 10, 2019. On this weekend, you will have an opportunity to give and/or pledge to the campaign.

  • Donors have until October 31, 2020 to fulfill pledges and make gifts to the campaign.

  • Our hope is for everyone to tithe — returning 10% of our income to God — while continuing to grow in their desire and capacity to give. We will continue to invite every household to give regularly to the ongoing ministries of the church that are funded through the weekly offering. The Courage Campaign is an invitation to give above and beyond your regular offering. Your gifts to the general budget and the Courage Campaign allow The Hills Church to remain committed to its mission to make and grow follower of Jesus.

  • Funding for international missions and domestic church planting, called Harvest, will remain a priority as we seek to complete the 2020 Vision. Funding for Harvest is included in the campaign goal, therefore, you will not need to make a separate commitment to Harvest.

  • First and foremost, we are asking you to pray and seek God’s leading on what he is wanting for you. Prepare your heart to hear him, and then listen to what he says. Spend time in personal reflection with God in the Courage Prayer Guide found in the campaign booklet or online at couragetoclaim.org. Talk with your spouse, your family, or others about what this commitment will mean for this exciting season of your life. We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-centered generosity – whatever it is that God leads you to do. Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. It is an awesome God we serve. He is moving in huge ways, and we anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective Courage commitments – something only God can do.

  • You can give online at thehills.org/give or by placing your donation in one of the giving envelopes during weekend services. You can give by cash, check, or online payment. You can structure your gift however you want — make a one-time gift or a pledge to be fulfilled by October 2020. It’s up to you to determine how and when to give.

  • Yes. Scheduling recurring donations is a great way to prioritize your giving. You can automate your giving through our online giving platform at thehills.org/give by selecting “Courage” in the appropriate field.

  • Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give. You might have stocks, property, or other non-cash items. You may have stored resources God has blessed you with in the past that he just might be calling you to give from during this time. In some cases, it’s possible to reduce taxes and multiply your impact with non-cash giving by donating appreciated assets before the sale. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you. You can contact Finance Manager, Rick Carder at rick.carder@thehills.org to make a gift of this type.

  • We will continue to have our Renew offering during the campaign fulfillment period, which supports local and international nonprofits striving to make the world a better place in the name of Jesus. This offering will be separate from the Courage Campaign. Every dollar given on Renew Weekend goes directly to our Renew partners.

  • First of all, if you have a desire to work but are unable to find a job at this time, we understand the pain you are feeling. We understand this is a difficult time and your desire to pledge. We would love the chance to walk with you and help discern what God is doing in your life and what he is wanting for you. Please reach out to one of our elders and they will be glad to pray with you and walk with you. Please do not carry this burden alone.

  • Getting out of debt and giving generously are both God-honoring efforts. We encourage you to ask God and seek wise counsel as to what he is inviting you to do with these financial decisions. We would be happy to help you in this journey and/or recommend resources that might help. Please contact our Life Stewardship Minister, Kalum Tuggle at kalum.tuggle@thehills.org if you need assistance with this or if you would like to speak with a budgeting coach. We would be honored to walk with you on this journey.

  • Our hope is for everyone to tithe — returning 10% of our income to God — while continuing to grow in their desire and capacity to give. If you’ve never given to The Hills Church, it might be best to start with a regular offering to our general budget, which you can give during our weekend services or online. But don’t rule out the invitation to give sacrificially through the Courage Campaign. Everyone is invited to play a part in this campaign.

  • We love that you have joined us. We pray The Hills Church is a place God will use to improve your life and, more importantly, a place where you can grow to become more like Jesus. We hope you’ll consider making The Hills Church your home and ask God to reveal to you how he wants you to invest in the Courage Campaign. If you’re still exploring whether The Hills Church is the right place for you and your family, please know there is no expectation for you to give.
